Rib kits

Now here is a good idea, a DIY rib kit, should save a few bob or a long wait if you want a 6m rib.

Hi Pete

You mentioned rib kits, well that is what my partner and I are intending to do.....hence the name "Naked Ribs".

You can pick your own fixtures and fittings and include a build manual as well.

As I am from an aviation engineering background, watch out for some serious improvements to the boating world from our little set up.

Hey Pete, just checked out that website. Cool looking boat, why not build one, "splash it" and there you go, a new business. Aren't BWM starting up again???

Dirk, not sure what there is to splash ? suppose you could photocopy the manual.

Dave, excellent idea, pics please when you have got the project up and running. A 7.5m Rib would be nice if the costs can be kept down by self build. Save me from splashing an Extreme 24

6m, 7.5m, 4.2m........its all the same to us...........YOU will be able to pick what you want for your ideal boat, and we will supply it in pieces, part built or complete, what ever you want.

Just to give you guys a taster, we are experimenting with moulding bus bars straight into the hull/floor, so no need for reams and reams of unprotected wiring!

Hurray, and a separate one for the fuel line. At last a manufacturer that acknowledges that funning the fuel line and battery cables in the same trunk under deck might not be a good idea.

Dave,

I am also interested in self-building a 7.5m, either with a large console to accomodate a head, or even with a little cabin to host a head and 2 berths. Another thing: what will the hull be made of ? Wood, Aluminiun, GRP ?

By the way, I am an IT man with a strong background in interactive technical manuels and I can publish in English, French(mother tongue), Italian and Dutch. Want to make a deal ?

We (my partner Henry and I) are very new to this and its early days, but never say never.

All our hulls are GRP/Kevlar combination, however, I do have a blinding project on the drawing board named "Project Dark Angel". She will be made out of Carbon fibre and clear gelcoat so you can see her sheer build quality.

Other features will be a stepped hull, polished aluminium console panels, joystick control, floor level deck lighting and a HUD (head up display) so no need for overcrowded instrument panels.

As to the offer of Tech authorship, again, never say never, we may do business yet!!!

Keep in touch!!

Woooooooooooh Very high-tech, indeed. Not sure that everybody can afford that. Intend to target the very narrow market of fully customized luxury yacht tenders ?
