I don't really think anybody is going to insure you for an unnatended unsecured boat. Think about it you park up in a nice bay on the Isle of White, nip down the pub for a few and somebody turns up on water and land and removes your VHF and GPS

Best for what exactly? Although they are undoubtedly seaworthy, they give a hard and very wet ride and certainly don't come at the top of my wish list.

Are you calling me a liar?

Da Delta!

For fear of starting a entire thread on "which hull is best" I`d like to make the following addendum;

In MY OPINION Delta make the best hull in comparison to Ribtec's, Cobra's, Humber's, Zodiacs, Tornados, Ribcrafts, Ballistics, Avons and a few others I cant be bothered writing down.

So why`d you buy the Humber?

Cause my Delta was getting old on me!

There was no way I could manage with anything bigger or more expensive and a smaller, newer and faster Humber seemed the way forward. (Have you tried to tow a 6.7m Delta behind a VW Golf?)

I had a look at a few Deltas on the second hand market and they were all in poor condition and needed to much work doing on them. I`ve already been through that chore of doing up a boat and I dont want to get back into it for a while. I`m gonna enjoy boating rather than DIY!

I`ve driven a few Humbers previously and they seem OK. I`m sure lots of people love and hate them for a variety of reasons. (I associate them with divers - never a good thing!) We`ll see how this one goes and if its a dud I`ll get rid at the end of the season.

Not quite what you said, Stuart, but my Colin Curtis Insurance with Haven-Knox-Johnston states:
"no claim shall be allowed in respect of:-
1) loss, damage (etc.)......................being left unattended off an exposed beach or shore"

So presumably I am covered if it is left unattended otherwise? Which is a good job as I left it once for 9 hours drifting around on it's own in the Baia du Seine !

Rogue,

If it's not a tad inquisitive, who underwrites your policies?
