I'm also behind the laptop, studying charts with one eye, trying to decide in which direction to go tomorrow and the other eye on this forum, checking out you guys (and you of course Nadia )

After a few days "on glue" last weekend the Zodiac should be good to go again.
I will launch the boat in the southwest of Holland (Zeeland) just for a days cruise...will probably get very wet as the wind is still pushing the waves...but the sun will be out at least, and the dry suit will keep me warm and dry

First cruise of the year for me...can't sleep!

Sounds like you have a great day planned. You really cant beat that first trip of the year.

Have a good one mate - we are with you in spirit.

Hope you can make it over to England later in the year and we'll take out for a cruise with us.

Still awake...

I glued the handbag to one of the tubes when I got the news about your adventure...better safe then sorry! Makes awkward shopping though...

I will surely be in the Uk later this year...my dad is living in geordieland, so a combination of visits is due to take place! Looking forward to Topaz! (Ow, sorry, and of course Sian...uffff)

I won't make my trip solo tomorrow, you will all be with me! Good feeling!

Unfortunatley I am tied up all day Sunday - I may get a few minutes to check out the Yacht Club and launch facilities - but cant say what time it will be.

I am however back in Cardiff Tuesday afternoon. I am hoping to stay for the evening meeting, but need to sort out my plans first.

If you are free to show me around the visitor centre Tuesday afternoon any time, or just to say hello prior to the SOC weekend let me know

My mobile numbr is 07900 278436

Great cruz!!!!

Just returned from a fab day out on the water!

During the night the wind did a 180 and this morning, when I arrived at the slipway, I was confronted with a flat calm! Not a ripple to be seen! It still amazes me to see how quickly sea conditions can change.

Engine started at the third pull and off we where! Circumnavigated two small islands just of the coast and followed the coastline for a while. Dropped anchor for a coffee and a sandwich...and then the old Yamaha wouldn't start again...nearly pulled my arm of trying, but no luck. Two new sparkplugs saved the day and whe wizzed back full throttle to the slipway. Even with a sea like a mirror still a thrill!

Recovered without problems and enjoyed the sun for a bit longer, playing badminton on the grass.

If this wasn't a perfect first run of the year, nothing is!

Yep we have been out today as well - first course (4 divers and two staff from major rib manufacturer) this year that it has felt like spring - bit rough at first Simon had the 4m searider and got wet in the rough stuff but the Humber was dry as a bone ( thats why the old man was in it!!). Real sunshine at last - perhaps Spring is here - I've had enough of winter!!
(probably rain on us tomorrow after this!!)

Start of the season! I was out in the Cromarty Firth on New Years day in Quicksilver. Sureley there aren't people who only take their RIBs out in the Spring and Summer?

Anyway on Monday evening I shall be making the 8 hour drive up to Scotland to collect the aforementioned Quicksilver ready for the SoC sendoff weekend. If the weather is less than hurricane force and the waves less than 50 feet I hope to get in a couple of trips in the boat whilst I am up there.

Cardiff here we come.

Cheers
