Rib fenders

Has anyone used the new rib fenders from Compass Marine? I hear they are great if you're coming alongside a wall to stop you rubbing the tubes. I wish I'd had them when I was learning to drive one, I'm sure I would have been saved a lot of anxious moments. They sound a brilliant invention.

The website I saw them on is

Hi Katina,

We've got ordinary fenders, but these look useful for situations like mooring alongside wooden piles. I think Jools has tried them - search for all posts by Jools and you may find some comments from him.

Hi folks

Save yourself some money & make them.

Have a look at Best way to tie up boat.

These have proved very very tough over 12 months now & cost about £20 for ones 5 foot long,to make, plus some time.

If anyone one want details & where to get materials from drop me a PM.

Regards Gary
