I think having him and his boat around all the time to protect your boat is a little over the top, and anyway he'd never keep up with you using that small engine on that boat with all the extra gear on board.

Very funny, I had not thought of it like that! I was actually referring to the console/canopy arrangement

I thought you were talking about a sidearm.

The T-top is probably custom made at a fairly high price (marine stainless welders fetch a pretty high fee.)

Taylor Made has (I think) a sort of modular system that looks less finished, but is loads cheaper than custom.

If your boat is on the small side, you can get one of these...

Actualy, I do like the Canopy arrangement, but can't help wondering how much extra fuel you'd use pushing it through the air.

I am not sure either, but for my project I am not to concerned about fuel as the boat will not be traveling far, but it will be on station for long periods possibly which is why I am looking at these canopy/console arrangements., I am also thinking it might be possible to add side curtains in really crud weather, possibly a removable/stowable system might be achievable? I know a good local welder who is reasonably priced and I know a girl who is a whizz at canvas work.

Rain is Horizontal at 30 knotts and you won't get any protection from those canopies at that speed. Perhaps you should consider an umbrella for the slow stuff.

I tried to show Pete7's umbrella that he used in Brittany, but the Jackeens have cleared all their attatchments.
