My guess looking at the 1st video is its probelly from the yacht anchor that has a trip line with a pick up bouy on the end .
In an ideal world the pick up buoy & trip line ought to have had a weight a couple of metres down to stop it getting picked up by a prop ,
Thought doubt in the wave conditions it would have helped much & given the circumstances it's probelly the last thing the yachts skipper was worrying about when he dropped it .
Think also it shows from the rib point of view the importance in such sea conditions of having a decent bow fair lead & cleat or strong point rather than just having a crew member trying to hold the line :-(

The engine was unbolted by the owners and stripped of anything that survived, before the bits could unbolt themselves in the night....

Probably....a quick and cheap way to recover it compared to any other.much cheaper than leaving it and it being more damaged, causing pollution etc if it falls apart.

How ironic would it have been had the yacht survived the beaching, only to get smashed against the rocks as the Huey lifted it off.
Glad the guys in the RIB lived to tell the story. Those rocks are pretty nasty and it could so easily have ended very differently.
I'm staying in one of those chalets at Bovisand over the Bank Holiday weekend. Hope the weather (and air traffic) is quieter then!
