So after months and months of very painful work trying to get the MacRIB into the boat show, I had just had enough. I felt sick, what had we built???? I had tried everything...

It was after I completed round Britain that it all started to happen! First the boat show came up with a deal but then after talking to Boatylicious Marine about this fantastic opportunity of being the first RIB in the show right next to the biggest attraction, they gave us £1,200 and I put the rest on my credit card!

So we are now sponsored by Boatylicious Marine who are very proud to finally make this happen for us. I can only hope that our bank account and the sale of the left over parts can clear my credit card

Arriving at the show this morning I started to panic!! our stand was too small and our package would not fit!!!! I was told we would be ok with a slight overhang but to be honest we were never going to get away with it!!!

Hewshaw's delivered the MacRIB all wrapped up and after a few panic phone calls I got hold of the floor manager and asked for a H&S inspection to clear our overhang. I wanted to know right away what action I needed to take. The H&S guy never turned up!!!

Thomas arrived so between me, Thomas and Steve from Henshaws (who wouldn't leave without helping out) started to sign write the Mac RIB with Thomas's awesome signs

As soon as we had done the signs people were reading them and knew exactly what we were doing with the rib, so they work!!

Still no H&S guy so I made the decision to remove the draw bar from the trailer, so after another call to Uncle Biff which I didn't want to do as he only got back from africa at 1:30am this morning, he was in his truck on his way with 4 x axle stands and some more tools.

Before long we had striped the front end off the trailer and we are now within the carpeted area with no tripping hazards in the path!!!!

Thank F*^$ for that!!!!

Now breathe!!!!! I said breathe!!!!

I thank my lucky stars for such a great forum and such great friends

I had a walk around the show and everyone is much further behind than us.

I visited our sponsors Tony and Garry who also have a stand each (Technohull and Lomac). and then I drove back to Swindon

Well done Alex, and the graphics are really eye catching, and with the great location that you secured for the boat, it will really attract a lot of attention.

Great! Park in the westquay multi story opposite the show entrance, £5 per day

Head for the show entrance and then left to the gate on the roundabout, we can get in from 8am

We need to put the Macmillan bits on the rib in the morning but that needs a woman's touch!! You also need to clean the carpet

Don't forget your photo for your ID
