A pal of mine bought one for his kids (2 14yr old girls) with a 25hp 2-S on the tail. It went like stink. I had a go and although it got up on the plane, it wasn't the fastest of toys on the water that day. With the 25hp it deffo would not pull a skier. Good enough fun though. As for build quality - 7/10. Kudos - 7/10 Resale Value/Appeal 5/10. Practacality 3/10 FUN - 11/10.

But - what the hell, if you fancy one, buy it - life's not a rehersal

is it the one at cowes yacht haven, for sale through AAA, if so i know the owner, it has been lightly used as was used for coaching a sailor pal of mine, its a great little boat
fast but no good in anything but calm waters ideal for lakes though, would suit a 8/10 year old or one adult ,more stable than a jet ski but not as much fun or speed

rhino rib

it is the one at aaa and the price seems very good for a 2003 boat
as i come from a jet ski back ground it looks good to me. but i dont
want a new jet ski due to size two kids to come out with daddy i all
so jet ski all year round have been know to go out in decmember and had
fun geting the jet ski off the trailor the waves were so high damaged the steering doing jumps off the waves. may not the right boat for me got 5k
to spend every boat i find now seems to be sold before i get to see it re sale could be a problem with this one. is my buget to low
for a nice rib 4.0m to 4.9

Well, I hate to admit this but I have one of those little bastards

It will go fast, but not i high seas.

With two adults it is a problem getting on the plane. but out alone it's very fun. I havn't triede to pull a skier but I don't think you can do this.

Playing around with the kids or on lakes this is a fantastic toy, and the console layout is very nice, eletric starter and all.

Go for it.

Rene

£5,000.00 is a shed load......

of money to have, especially if it's cash. Without stating the obvious, have a look at www.boatsandoutboards.com Have your money ready, fuel tank full and be prepared to drive north or south for a couple or three hours to get the right thing. The closer to the summer you leave it, the more it will cost you !

Phil Davies's is a very bad example of a Searider, it's been abused, never serviced, it's trailer hubs are constantly in the sea, he never flushes his engine and as with his other toys is never cleaned. Hi Phil

Yea, dealers are a rip off unless there's something in it for them (I suppose they have to make a living). I'll keep my eyes and ears open. B&O remains the best bet. You could also try the following web sites Apolloduck, Boatmart, Marine Europe, BoatBrowse. Good Luck.

What about these?

Valiant V-490/ Yamaha 60hp
http://ribs.apolloduck.co.uk/display.phtml?aid=11630

Zodiac Pro 4.7m/ Evinrude 35hp
http://www.buyaboat.co.uk/boatdetail...srefno=2011551

Zodiac Pro 4.7m/ Yamaha 50hp
http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F29852/

I know all of these are slightly above your budget, but everybody prices their boat a bit higher than what they actually want for it and i'm sure you could do a deal with cash!

Used to have a Valiant V-490 with 75hp Mercury. Very fast boat & lots of fun!!

Just spotted this on the forum

http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4282

Very good price for a Ribcraft, they are solid, well built boats.
