Dan.
We have fitted a 225 Optimax to the demonstrator but the engine is only just run in and we are waiting for calmer weather for some speed testing - we are expecting speeds in excess of 60 mph quite easily though .................. (the first race boat had yellow tubes hence the Banana bit!)

Revenger/scorpion Thread

I've been out on the 760 with 200 opti on it and it was very lively, fast and stable, i would imagine the 225 would push the 29 along nicely but not as exciting as the 760!
One of Revenger's customers has a 27 with the 225 Evinrude on it, he was claiming 50kts +

I read all these with interest, i would say

1) Both have their own pros and cons

2) I know both can be stuffed

3) I own a scorpion and i agree they are expensive, but the finish is good, but i can only say this becuase i used to have Humbers, good boats, but i had to finish mine off.

4) As with cars, i think some of buying a boat is your choice, what is good for you may not be to other peoples liking, otherwise we would all probably have the same ribs,,,that would be boring me thinks

We will visit the Ribbex to see most of the Ribs next of June.

I think the revenger 760 would be worth looking at.

760 is a good boat, i been out on one in a very stiff f6 up the solent and it attacked the chop very well, even at speeds of 55mph+. naff seats though, no side support and drivers has a stupid lump of metal that i got a bruised leg from.
Landed very well when it took off

And i just read an article in RibInit that says this boat is available only "as is" and not customisable!!!!!

Anyone know a link to their website, google returns a blank, could be helpfull for readers of this thread who don't know what a revenger 760 looks like.

Do you think the revenger 29 will handle better with 2x200 instead of 1x225 Optimax?
