is the stuff, it drys very hard so try and get it as smooth as possible, so you don't need to sand too much!

I have been using this stuff. Hempel Marine Grade Epoxy Filler - mbfg.co.uk

It is really tough stuff, stick like **** . Not so easy to sand as hard, but has a long "pot life"and by using a plastic film on top after application, its easy to smoth down.

But the color is not white, more like greyish so on a white hull requires further actions to look good.

After last weekends little foray on the Humber, I've got the same problem. A few dings in the hull at the base of the transom. The gellcoat is off through to the layup. I've got epoxy with colloidal silica which makes great filler, BUT I want to add pigment to blend it into the orange hull. Does anyone know if you can add pigment to epoxy?

You can add pigment to anything.

I always mix my own gel filler but it's a pain, but you get use it it when you spent a while repairing very expensive racing kayaks for a living , may I just add the work on the bottom of my boat at the moment isn't mine

I want to know what orange my humber is so if anyone can let me know the orange humber use that would be great.

Plastic Padding Gelcoat Filler is the dog's danglies.

Use 3M wet and dry sandpaper and a drop of Fairy Liquid for uber-smooth repairs. Hands feel soft afterwards too!

I guess the orange must be a standard ral colour or something, so just need to find an innert colouring agent, however, I assumed all would be white, and would need a paint of orange flow coat to finish ?

When new the colour will be close to standard - but as it ages it becomes far more difficult to match accurately ...

When I've used pigment before, it's been a thick paste that you added to the resin mixed it in, then added the catalyst. You don't need much pigment, it goes a long way.
