Removing vinyl lettering from hypolon

As the title suggests I want to remove an old cracked and flaking name from my new to me Ribtec.

I have peeled off the name, but left behind is the old glue and fading marks.

I was thinking acetone, is that ok on hypolon please.

Many thanks.

Toluene is what you need but be careful with it, DO NOT scrub it in with a green pad, you can buy light grade scrubbing pads for the job. You can get the stuff at any decent online rib shop.

You will likely never remove the fading if it has been on a while so probably better to cover it up with a properly made hypalon name patch.

3m do a product called “adhesive remover”. It’s very good but a lot less potent than toulene or acetone. Once you’ve got the glue off, as stated above you’re unlikely to remove the discolouration so indeed a patch or similar might be an option.

Autoglym do a adhesive remover...and it doesn't touch the Hyperlon (unlike Toluene) not sure if you can get it in non trade size...probably get some from a local Valleter .....but certainly worked on mine and is excellent
Looks from the photo there is still adhesive on the Tubes?...if not and they have been marked a call to Henshaws for a couple Laser cut Name Patches will tidy it right up,very good value too
