Removing Transfers

I am just about to start getting my zapcat ready for the race season this year. I am going to remove all the old sponsers so that i can put new ones on but i want to know what i should use to get rid of the anoying stick residue that is left on the tubes after the transfers have been removed.

Does anyone know the best way to get rid of thee sticky stuff.

wd-40 does the job (along with a million other uses), just give it a squirt and a rub

Hi Craig,

Before you remove them, and I know this is going to sound daft, get a hairdryer and hold it over the sticker/graphic and peel them off, this should also remove most of the glus behind the sticker. Then I guess normal tube replenesher would remove any left over residue.

Ye i was going to use a hair dryer anyway but i wasnt sure if it would remove the glue

If you're using a hairdryer or heat gun, make sure that you don't get it too hot. If the adhesive actually melts it will make a real sticky mess that takes a lot of cleaning off (guess how I know!).

For getting vinyl lettering off vans I found that by far the best way was to use boiling water.

Remember that if you do use heat, the air in the tubes will expand, it would probably be worth reducing the pressure slightly.

Craig ... have you asked the old sponsors if they will sponsor you again??

Also think about how you can use the masses of photos we have taken of you over the past few weeks. Between Ricky, Tim and myself we have loads ... all with those old sponsors over them. New sponsors may also be impressed!! with such a portfollio.

I think after Friday, if I was a sponsor I would go for the most visible spot ... underneath!!! I suspect you got a taste for flying.

I have now removed all the transfers off the tubes but there is still some of the glue left on there. Does anyone know what the best thing is to use to get it off.

Actually Eddo the only thing that did go to my head was a ruddy great wave!!
( I bottled out, shut the throttle just before landing and after seeing Blisters bow tube distort with the weight of water recall a large green wet thing hitting me between the eyes!)
