Removing scale from hull

Hi, I have a very clean Avon D560 with the orange hull, the original owner kept it on a mooring and because of this I have a lime scale like water line on the back and also some marks on the outboard. Is there and sort of cleaner that will help me get this off?

regards martin

I think your best bet is to get busy with some rubbing compound, Farecla is good stuff. Try and use with a machine if you can.

If it's a mineral scale, try a bathroom cleaning concoction, or simply white vinegar. A fine Scotchbrite pad used with a light touch should help. In either case, give it a decent rinse afterwards.

i've used Cilit Bang with quite good results. just spray it on and leave for a few minutes whilst it fizzes away then wipe clean. you might need to try a few times.

just remembered for really stubborn scaling then use star brite bottom cleaner. this really works well but remember to use gloves as it can sting!

And finish with Knacker Lacquer, it'll put a lustre on your cluster.
