Well one reason is that anytime someone does vote, the thread goes back to the top, doesn't it? Then the thread is reread by all those people who voted (and didn't vote, but simply read the thread) before.
If this is the case, doesn't it mean that the number of views ought to be equal to the factorial of the number of actual voters?
