Alan,
Thanks for your input. I appreciate that other people's opinions are not as important as sea trials, but I just wondered what you found amiss with the design of the Parker? I feel it would be helpful as , although, I'm not likely to end up with a Parker or Redbay- No offence guys, I'm sure they're both great boats, just not what I will have-, I don't want to be "blind" to areas that I don't have a lot of experience in. Cheers, Jono

Having now had two and a half weeks driving our company redbay 8.4 i can reiterate what is said above. It is a fantastic sea boat.
Ours has a solid forward wheelhouse seats for three with all the usual electronics and is powered by twin yam F115's top wack 34 knots in dead water 36 max speed achieved with tide/wind but will cruise in all but the worst conditions at 20-25 knots.
Last week we had those SE gales F8-9 gusting 50 knots well i did our mail runs between the islands twice every day the weather didn't stop me or the boat. One Island is exposed to the SE'erlies had to come down to 16-18 knots then but no prob's.Another has a shallow bar off it with large surf and this boat just flew through it.
I'm well impressed with it as is most of the islanders here who saw it out.
We've got it licensed for a tonne of cargo as well so it carries really well.
I can get three standard pallets on the deck in it.
If i could post photos i'd put some up but haven't got the foggiest how to do it.

That's quite a recommendation for Redbay behavin ...
They did look good at RIBraid.

Parker's cabin RIB looked great also at RIBex and Andre (member here) is always very courteous with enquiries.

(Postin photos...click the manage attachments button, browse and upload.Make sure they are resized small first )

I've read my post again and it comes across as tall story time.. But honestly its not..!!
we (company) run two inter island vessels one a 55 foot steel launch 3ton hiab and this redbay.
In the very worst weather we cancel the steel launch but i believe that if needed the redbay will still cope with it.The steel launches problem isnt the weather its the amount of "run" alongside the quays as you've got to hold the thing there whereas this isn't a problem with the redbay.
My only concern is that if we get really high winds and big seas that going head to wind may be dangerous if the wind gets under the bow and blows her back wards. I reckon we might call it a day then..?
Seriously i'm so impressed with its sea keeping and load carrying ability.
If your ever criusing to the scillies look me up i'm either on the redbay (work) or a (cant miss it) yellow delta dash (play)

Thanks so far

Thanks for your thoughts so far on Redbay verses Parker. I could do with more information on the Parker 9 metre cabin baltic rib.

Graham, you need to speak with either Andre or Paul Lemmer. I don't think they've sold one of the 9m Baltic cabin RIBs into the UK yet, so only the manufacturer or his UK dealer will be likely to give any useful information.

Andre is on this forum, and Paul Lemmer can be found here: http://www.ribsltd.co.uk/Rapier1.htm
