Redbay 7.4 cabin

Hi there. I am looking into buying a Redbay 7.4 with a forward cabin. It has a 245hp inboard Yamaha. Has anyone got any experience of this boat and how are they?

A friend of mine has an open 7.4 with the same engine. It is featured in the video below - fast forward to minute 01:00 to spare yourself the Bear Grylls Experience. Nice boat. The cabin is basically a drop on addition so they're very similar otherwise. Some might find the forward helm a bit bumpy in the lumps. They're built like a brick sh1thouse, very beamy and stable. The engine has a good rep. What boat is it you're looking at, I might know her...

I had one

I owned a 7.4 cabin Redbay for a couple of years.
Well built and very capable boat, useful deck space, nice big diameter tubes, hard cabin was a great feature. I fitted a warm air heating system run from the engine and was great for use in the winter.

Mine had the ME370 165hp in it, would hit 28knts and cruise all day at 22knts 2500 revs burning 10l per hour.

Cracking bit of kit, only sold it to buy a motor cruiser with some home comforts for the family.

Cheers,
Barry
