redbay 6.5 v ribcraft 6.8

I am considering buying either one of the above - I am looking for the safest , most reliable and seaworthy 6.5 m, rib available, of any make , and the above have been suggested. Can anyone comment, or suggest an alternative ?? Many thanks

Has McAleese Marine started selling Ribcrafts and Redbays?
For whats its worth both are well built deep V's and good boats, it really comes down what fits your needs best IMHO.

McAleese Marine are new agents for Parker Ribs. Nice ribs, good value as made in Poland. I wouldn't recommend buying anything from McAleese.... been there, seen that

If you like Function over Form, then Humber is an obvious choice.

I'd strongly recommend a trip to Redbay, it's a nice day out. Their 650 is a very slick boat with a moulded deck, the 6.5 is more customisable.

and I'm sure someone in Ireland would give you a test run on a Redbay 6.5 if you asked

Well worth investigating the xs 6.5m from Barnet Marine - we also looked @ Ribcraft + Redbay + Humber when making a similar decision -

A very brief summary of our thinking when choosing our boat -

- Didnt need a wrap round console so no need to go with Redbay
- Ribcraft good boats
- Humber old hull shape / design

Reasoning for XS (in brief!) - I had used Tornados a fair bit and build quality seemed to be ok on them when produced by BM - used an XS belonging to the Firebrigade and impressed by it, that and the price tag swung it for me!

Rib craft 6.8 would have been tempting if i had room for a bigger boat but still think i would have gone with XS 7m

All very bias - probably better you go out and try them first!

I understand they are very attractive, price wise. I saw a few recently at a dive club - I wasn't overly impressed with the general finish, but then, they were pure dive rigs.

Who makes XS and where is the production facility?

NO CONTEST
Has to be EXCALIBUR

DIESEL 6.5m

OUTBOARD 6.5m

Or if you fancy something a little smaller 6m Outboard

These ribs really have to be tried to be believed.
After your first test run you wont need to consider anything else.

They have a very high looking Bow, does this cause problems with vision?

Osprey gets my Vote however

They've got a whole 'Donald Duck' thing going on. It's a good look.

No the high bow does not cause any problems with vision .

On a day like this I know what kind of bow I'd choose.

Send a message via MSN to Jon Brooks
Might be worth a trip to the Southampton Boat Show.

All of the boats you want or need to trial should be there.

Weekends would be good and I know the very nice man who will be driving the Ribcraft demo boats!!!!
