Recommendations

Hi all.

I'm looking for recommendations for rib out-fitters/rib specialists etc. (countrywide).

Basically I'm looking to have some work/mods made to the rib, i.e. installation of a new sounder & transducer, installation of new antennae incl. cable, keel-guard, wear patches, maybe a bit of re-wiring and a good valet at the end of it all.
Just thought of it, a repair to the full cover as well.

Appreciate all info.

Thanks.

Matt.

For the same reason I don't ask my dentist to service my car!!

I don't have the necessary skill-set to complete the work to the standard that a professional in the industry would.

Now, do you have any recommendations??

Which would be a shame as it’s a perfectly reasonable question.
If Alex Hutchings (Whisper on here) is still in the game, I’d call him.

Indeed - although other than wear patches there is nothing rib specific on that list so any boat yard could probably do the work for the right money! Whilst the OP asks for “country wide” it would probably be sensible to narrow it down a little. In the meantime RIBshop do this sort of stuff and I think Rogue Wave’s son (might post on here as Jasper) was also in the rib fit out game - both on the south coast.

Thanks all for the info, appreciate it.

I've been on to Rib Shop in Southampton and they'll do everything bar the keel-guard.

There are tube guys in the north west.

I don't know what their expertise is with other things, but even if you had to use 2 companies will be less of a ball a he than trailing to the Solent and then returning a couple of weeks later to retrieve it

Trying to think of any threads that BP has contributed to that hasn't ended up in a argument.................................... Maybe he's just bored

Ribshop are pretty good - had a small issue with a tube repair carried out by them and they sorted it without quibble
