this and never was about Honda vs Etec it was more about people saying how great the etec was. Now Polly seems to insist that we should back these claims up and hay I am sure he will be delighted if you can be bothered.
the two stroke vs 4 stroke though is more interesting and if we all do our homework and understand how they both work he we see the very simple cause and effect i.e.
2 stroke create power on every cycle 4 strokes dont this = better acceleration for the 2 stroke
2 stokes mix oil and petrol for lubrication which is not a good solution and very wasteful so they dont last as long and burn more fuel. Oh and if you dont like this please argue your point with the worlds engine makers and not me as it is them who say this not me
oh and lets been v v clear on this as I am sure I will be asked to repeat it again and again and again. this goes for all 2 strokes and all 4 strokes and it is not ETEC bashing yet!. as I posted previously there is lots of info on this online that will confirm what I am saying so why not focus on how they work and then it is v obvious why a 2 stroke burns more fuel and why a 4 stroke does not accelerate as quickly
Oh Picky dave. whilst you are chanting ETEC , ETEC , ETEC ( its funny how you say i have been chanting Honda when all i have done is mention a first service cost but this will now change) then re your comment about servicing

" so there is even less of difference in acceleration

oh and did I say that they dont limit the warranty to 750 hours or 5 years and that we get commercial engines in under warranty with over 5000 hours
and they still have lots of life in them. Oh and the honda would not need refitting by dealer if sold under warranty.
