Interesting looking thing, and for the spec it doesn't look that expensive to me?

But I would never trust the sellers if they have dodgy smiles

I may be wrong (I often am) but it looks like a cabin rib that lives in the dinghy park at dalgety bay sailing club - and I think it is tied up alongside one of their slipways. If I am right then "mdt" might be able to fill in more details as I think he knows the owner.

If I am right the yellow faces are a side effect of the large amount of radiation on the ground DBSC was built on!

it is the small amount... that has come from the the dials that where crushed up when WWII planes where not needed. And seeing as how the glow in the dark dials did our grandfathers no real harm sat 2foot in front of them while seeing off the hun I recon launching the RIB should be fine…

Yep my mates RIB.

Its twenty two grand without a trailer which makes it expensive IMHO. Those Deltas in Babcocks weren't that much and whilst I might be biased, I would much rather have this.

The Delta at Babcocks had a 170hp inboard diesel coupled to 212 Hamilton jet, would this be a little underpowered? Though one would think to have FRC spec one must exhibit a modicum of "F"

Fast is surely a relative term though. I think that FRC is more "fast response" than all out speed - so what matters is how quick can you put it in the water and maneouvre it compared to the mothership.

There are some more pictures of the boat on the DBSC website.

I am sure its fast enough for some people who want a boat like this - presumably most people thinking of buying a cabin rib (or at least an "industrial looking" one like this) aren't hoping to do 40+ knots.

Exactly. I can't remember many times in the North Sea when conditions allowed flat out use of the boat anyway, and trust me for handling large waves or close quarter pickups, the Delta's aren't underpowered at the configuration described.

My comment isn't meant as a criticism. It's a work boat and I'm sure it does the job. And, if it's the one I think it is, I've had a ride in it.
