Rampant rib due to no killcord-again

Type "rampant rib saved by lifeboat" in to you tube.

More idiots with no killcord or lifejackets It looks like for that matter.

Filming it to " get £150 from YBF" hope they donated it to the RNLI!

Looks a nice 6m plus rib now with a good few scrapes from the lifeboat!

That happened about 3 years ago ...... Do try to keep up
I would agree though it will not do any harm to resarect in for the start of the season... I always show a copy of that on out courses.A picture paints a thousand words...

Having been ejected from my boat last year (there's quite a lengthy thread on the subject) and having failed to wear a killcord, I can attest to the foolishness and the potential for real trouble by not wearing one.

I'm now a moderate evangelist on the subject.

I heard (I wasn't listening properly) that the salcombe lifeboat was called out today for a flipped over rib, no lifejackets and no kill cord.

Another 'no kill-chord' tale of woe which recently went to court.

Totally agree Paul - the only comment in the item that I find odd is the following one:

prosecutor Jill Wilson said an officer who saw the pair on the Prince of Wales Pier prior to them getting into the RIB said Gates was slurring his words and staggering.

Am I being over expectant of our Police but why did the Officer then allow him to get in and drive off in the RIB - surely if he had been getting into a car they would have held him - can someone clarify for me

The Skipper of the Lifeboat is an occasional player on the Fortesque Pool team so I'll ask him on Wednesday night what happened!
