Cod, even if your boat's trunks are just under water you should not be shipping very much water at rest, you don't have to raise them every time you stop do you? As I understand it, they are usually installed so as to bail water out of the boat, moving or stopped. I usually leave mine down all the time, the amount of water on the aft deck is insignificant at best, have you tried leaving them down to see how much you take on? Mdt's point is a good one...
