To take the whip off it's a 1/4 turn with a 10mm spanner (or an adjustable) on the ferrule nut (under the red plastic cover on their website photo) and take the stainless whip out of the base bit (the antenna coil).
It really is easy and is what we do every time we put in and take out Baby Blue from the garage.

Oh yes - and the antenna coil has a lifetime warranty (and no - I've no connection to Salty John's other than being a happy customer).

Ive had a few rib raider type aerials, had a couple bent not my fault. Currently doing some work on my boat and must say the performance of the rib raider type aerial has been pretty poor and hence now changing to a shalespeare 1.2M aerial which im fixing to top of Aframe using a stainless steel swivel mount. Will let you know if it improves performance.
