What sort of inflatable toys are you looking at though

I didn't buy a Gecko because ...

At 57cm minimum size, it is 0.5 cm too large for me and too large for my daughter (main crew) as well.

I seem to recall a bad accident with a helmet that was too large, a couple of years ago.

I am interested to see RIBsters' views about keeping the rain out. I might have to consider another make of helmet in the future.

Chris.

Just found it Norwich Union Sailplan Pleasurecraft Policy There is no mention of headgear just.1.All riders will wear CE or US Coast Gaurd aproved impact jackets 2.It is further warranted that inflatable water sports toys usedmust be CE or US Coast Gaurd Approved. Dont want to digress from the original post though

I've got one of these:- http://rib.net/forum/attachment.php?...5&d=1162152524

and it's got a dark as well as a clear visor. You do get a mouthful occasionally but it's a lot cheaper than a gecko

Hell, it doesn't look as funny as a normal rib helmet either

I did think to myself on my last cold trip home into the wind and rain that wearing all my motorcycle gear would be good .

It was impossible to keep the hood up on my jacket and hats just blow off .

I do have a good kayaking helmet ,without vent holes, that I will try with goggles for the next bad weather trip . but a full face bike lid would keep all my chins warm ,well most of them anyway .

I think a screen is needed for my boat .

No fear - rather than digress from the original post - perhaps we can have this discussion here http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16623 where I highlighted me concern about exactly this point a few weeks back.
