Nice boat for charter or sale it seems. Only comment is that it is probably a bit light on the engine front - especially as it is the heavier cabin model. Anyone fancy it?

I thought for a minute that the winter weather had caused you to throw the towel in and sell your boat, particularly in view of your post first thing this morning!

BTW, whereabouts in the Caribbean are you heading for next month?

Confession - I do frequently indulge a bit on the "dark side" as I am a racing skipper on big boats. In 2009 I started a race in Antigua called the RORC Caribbean 600 which races 600 miles all around the the leeward islands. I still hold the record for the race set in 2009 on a big multihull. 40 hrs 11mins 5sec which is not bad for the distance. Nacho teams may have seen a picture of this trimaran on the wall in the pub in Yarmouth - pulling a water skier. Anyhow I have entered a 98 ft clunker this year called BRISTOLIAN which is not a particularly fast boat - anyone interested can follow the race on live trackers. See the website www.caribbean600.org
This is the 6th edition of the race and it is gaining status as an international event.

The boat is called Katie. We were looking at her as an option to buy before the Olympic ribs came up for sale. She is kept at Ian Gould's place (a mate of ours who owns Coastline Ribs at Mercury Boatyard).

It is said that her engines may be a little under powered, but we did test run her and she was fine (but maybe not so economical). She is 3 years older than ours, and not in as good a condition i.e. a little tired. She does have the 'back canvas' like you have (to close off the cockpit from wind and rain).

Never done any big-boat racing but I used to be a volunteer skipper for the Ocean Youth Trust's 76' gaff-rigged Ketch, 'Greater Manchester Challenge' and we used to take itinerant kids away sailing for a week at a time, so I too enjoy big-boat sailing but have to say, not in the league of 'Bristolian' which looks absolutely gorgeous (if a RIBnetter's allowed to say that about a stick and string powered craft?). Took the boat from Liverpool to Fuerteventura and back one year via Lisbon and Cadiz which made a change to the usual slog around the Western Isles or the Clyde with a 'reluctant' crew!

Anyway, I'm sure we'll catch up one day John and can swap stories about various Caribbean haunts too - Foxy's on Jost Van Dyke, Sunshine's Bar on Nevis, the Dogwatch Tavern in Jolly Harbour, Sidney's Peace and Love bar, The Mad Mongoose in Falmouth, Rawlins Plantation on St Kitts, etc, etc

but how on earth is Ian Gould doing these days???? I like the Coastline Ribs a lot and i had a fantastic run over to Cowes with Ian in a 7.00m Coastline. A very friendly gentleman!!! say Hi to him with my regards!!!
