Well I've just received my ebay bargain 19" SST prop in the post. Can't wait to try it out, this weekend might be a no-no looking at the weather though.

Still waiting for a phone call...

So, how much slip do you recon I'll get from this experimental progressive pitched prop.

Goes from a 23" to a 21" to two 19" ones

Should get into negative figures with all this bite.

I call it the quadraphiello

Land and sea do say they will not survive use in surface piercing applications - because I asked em when I was looking into those props a few years back.

Spoke to BRP today, yes they did ring me back

He said there might be an issue with performance and will talk to various people next week about the problem.

Ah, that's different cos you said they wouldn't last 30 seconds, without giving any qualification.

I dare say they wont if used as fully surface piercing but I used to run mine with the top blade out of the water and it didn't give any trouble. The boat didn't go any faster though. It didn't go slower either but the exhaust noise was, err... sporty so I gave up lifting it out. One of the neat tricks when using it for cruising, is to get up to speed, lift it out of the water and because the load reduces it pitches up but when it was gently lowered back in it stayed pitched up, then the engine revs dropped a couple of hundred and the boat gained a couple of mph.
