I tried that once and buggered the sucker thingy up as the petrol knackered the seals.

I would remove inside tube water with the hammock procedure, as small salt water amount still in ,fill almost the whole tube with fresh water, let stand for N hours/days as you wish to delute salt water , repeat procedure untill no salt remains in exiting water, tongue test, sun dry. If there is a tube hole, look for it and repair properly.

I agree Nick, going around the house then to the lake, then to some where else. Jumping Jack Flash from one tricky question/answer to another, to another, to another, endless answers with apparently no solution at all, I quit, sea doesn't wait...
