Pressure Washed Cover

My 2 year old acrylic canvas cover has started to let through water and get mildewy on the inside so today I pressure washed it ready for re-treating with Fabsil Gold when we get the next dry day.

Problem is, I've now read that you shouldn't pressure wash canvas covers so I'm worried that I've damaged the fabric

Has anyone else pressure washed their acrylic canvas cover and re-treated it? Was it OK???

You can't worry about it now, you've already done it. Treat it as you were going to and see what happens, you have nothing to lose

Is that the same material as the blue ebay covers? If so I have washed in the bath and then treated with fabosil. I thought it was a waste of time and effort. Worked for a few months and hasn't really extended the covers life.

No, this is a tailor made cover in black acrylic canvas.

I haven't damaged any of the stitching or torn the fabric but I'm worried that pressure washing it might have somehow damaged the fabric in another way since the general advice seems to be not to PW them!

Just looking for reasurence (or otherwise) from anyone else that pressure washes their breathable canves cover...

I wouldn't have thought you would have damaged the fabric, probably just it's waterproof properties. As Biffer said carry on and reproof it!
Even reinforced PVC will wear if you pressure wash it, better to use a soapy solution and a stiff broom to clean it.

I always take my covers to the laundry mat. Then put a DWR in on a second wash cycle.
