Prawn Trawler Sinks - Video

Scary how fast they go - check the lad who got pulled under at the end, looks like a rope caught him. This sinking was recent - an Ardglass boat.

Looks like their lifejackets saved their bacon. I think I would have jumped clear a little sooner, imagine being speared by that plank of wood that shot up

As always, there will be lots of comments about what others WOULD have done, had they been there.

For my part, I think it shows how very few people expect to end up in the water. Frankly, I think about it every time I set foot in a boat. A boat's "natural state" is sunk - that's where entropy wants it to be. I suspect those lads spent precious minutes trying to save the vessel and then more calling for assistance.

Which leads me to my other observation, the liferaft surfaced but failed to deploy. Not what you want
