Ah but Powerboat and RIB is "a magazine which is consistently the largest in terms of pagination of any of the UK marine titles".

It is also "establishing itself as a marine magazine like no other; both in terms of content and quality of read".

I don't think anyone has ever doubted that!

With regards to a rib mag, it's not a bad idea, I would donate some time, I know a little about ribs too

Sounds like it's sponsored by Mazda, maybe it's a family thing

There's a lot of familiar faces in the latest edition. Had to check I hadn't been sent Swann family photo album by mistake.

(nb this comment is based entirely on jealousy. Would that we could all spend our time arsing about in RIBs for the benefit of the camera.)

Have to say that i think rib.net is the place to go for info - ok, some like some types of ribs/engines etc more than others, but at the end of the day, always get constructive advice. I've learnt loads. Love the rebuild sections etc.

The late night banter is entertaining too - and real time

I do get the mag, but only because i travel a lot and like to have something to read.

RIBnet is much better value for money
I renewed the mag subscription last year while still in hospital after me op, must have caught me off me guard, hopefully due back in to hospital soon for next op, think I may just take this latest mag in with me, if I get any visitors I can pretend to me asleep under the mag don't think I'll be renewing my subscription, would rather donate it to CRUK to be honest

My renewal subscription came through today also. I won't be renewing as I don't think there are enough articles on ribs generally, and also not enough for normal ribbers on budgets.

Seems like everyone is dissing the Mag and, sure enough, while I can see Plenty of things we'd change and nothing is perfect!....Or anyone
For a few Quid I will still pick it up,and enjoy the odd article and bits of info, and reviews,as I have in the past...isn't like there's a Plethora of Titles to choose from..
They did try a Fully RIB oriented Mag in the first place remember, until the harsh reality's of the Market Place set in.
Nothing wrong with Critiquing, even the Best (i.e Ribnet) is enhanced by that!.. but throwing the Baby out with the Bathwater wont change anything.

I think the only thing we don't get on Rib.net is an analytical "professional" evaluation of bot trials - yes I know some would say you don't get those in printed press either.

How about a new forum on here - maybe with a standard evaluation report where ribnetters could submit their reviews of tested boats. alternatively a number us could claim to me maritime journalists and spends days burning manufacturer's petrol then write up a standard evaluation - it seems to work for some a full time job.

Even more scary there could be a ribnet panel who evaluate & test new boats....nominations / dis-nominations please.
