I suppose it depends on how big your SIB and your bollocks are
It can get a bit nasty around St Anne's Head and on the run out to the islands, but on a really calm day, you may be okay.

Ian Parkes hooked-up with a bunch of us in ribs when he had a sib. It was a bit of a nightmare. He was getting battered to bits trying to keep up, we had to stop to let him catch-up every couple of miles.

Thanks both,

It's a 3.8m Alu floored Quicksilver with 25hp.

I'm not sure it would be my bollocks that would be the issue, more likly to be my buddy's.

I've experienced the chop and the rollers around St Anne's in the RIB but didn't really pay enough attention at the time to whether it was SIBable.

Sounds potentially do able - even if it takes a while and can always turn round and head for home.

Just have to work out the best route:

a) round St Anne's then hug the coast before taking the shortest transit out to the island

b) round St Anne's and then most direct route to Skokholm

Anyway - will be a while till I give it a shot and if the sea state isn't upto it we'll have to stick to diving in Dale or Sandy Haven.

A 3.8 SIB with 25hp should be ok if it's not too ruff.
I'd get past the choppy stuff at St Anne's and gun it straight for Skokholm. With all the fetch out there, it won't be a lot calmer inshore and you'd still have to get through the Skomer/Skokholm sound.

Cheers DHD, sounds like a plan!

Possibly being a bit dumb (no change there then!!) - but could you not launch from Martins Haven - same site as the Dale Princess or is it restricted??

Access is virtually pedestrian only.
