Portsmouth Hotels

I am looking for a hotel in Portsmouth near the Gun Wharf Quays. The Holiday Inn is fully booked, anybody with local knowledge got any ideas and phone numbers??

When are you coming down? There's an Ibis in the centreish of Portsmouth, about a 7min walk from Gunwharf.

Other options could perhaps be to try somewhere in Gosport and catch the ferry over.

PM me if you want any help, as I'm in student halls in the centre of Pompey.

Failing that there are a couple in Cosham (Nth Portsmouth). The Travel Inn is the most reasonable followed by the Tulip Inn then Marriott. All should have extensive websites if you have a google. They're 10 min from Gunwharf (outside of rush hour ).

Oh dear, its not going well. I am coming down to the festival of the sea at the end of June and the whole place is booked up. Have my bearth booked at Haslar Marina, and thats all I know about the area. I will have my car with me, should I book further out and if so where do you think? Or should I move the Marina location and travel on the water?

Sorry to sound a little dim, but I am from the frozen North and this is like going to the moon for me

Try getting in touch with the university housing people (student.housing@port.ac.uk) as they will almost certainly have some slots in student halls, which are walking distance to Gunwharf.

If your boat is in Haslar, you will need to use the Portsmouth-Gosport ferry to get across Portsmouth Harbour anyway, so you would do well to look for places in Gosport too.

If you can get a berth At Northney marina there is a post House Hotel 2 mins walk you are about 20-30 mins from Portsmouth harbour by boat out though Chichester harbour we launch there all the time, you can get out under Hayling Island bridge and though eastney harbour about 2 hours each side of high tide saves 10/15mins. Just a thought.
