Port or starboard?
Question - with all the roads flooded in places I note that there are quite a few ribs / sibs proceeding up and down places where there is normally a road.
If two boats meet what are the rules? Do they pass as if at sea (port to port) - or do they drive on the left like a car? If two boats had a prang because of any confusion over this it would be interesting to know how an insurance claim would pan out!

A good question..I was amazed at the boat a reporter was in...a70s ski boat with tiller yam..no LJ in sight.
Hrh Charles was the same..the swift water rescue guys were fully kitted up.....
I'd go nautical....port to port....they're in boats after all....

have you people not noticed? The media dont normaly practice safety in boats , L/Js dont seem to be worn very often.

Strictly you are on a highway / byway - not a waterway. What do you do if you meet a vehicle like a land rover / tractor coming the other way?

Rule 1 states that the rules apply to all vessels upon the high seas and all waters connected to the high seas and navigable by seagoing vessels.

Being from the USA I think y'all drive on the wrong side of the road and port to port is normal for all types of driving.
FWIW do you really need a life jacket when you can stand up with your head out of the water?

No your not, your on the water above the highway, and the water is from the river/sea.
Port to Port I would say, and if you meet a vehicle you allow him room as his displacement is more
