Port Glasgow to Inverary

The plan is to launch at Port Glasgow and travel down the Clyde, up the Kyles then straight up the Loch Fyne. Whats your thoughs on this? How long should it take? And most importantly.... How much fuel? One way trip btw.
In the Valiant 490 with the 50 yam, one passenger.

Thanks Jieboy.

I think this is about 70nm. So should take you roughly 3.5 hours (at cruising speed). I don't know how much fuel you will actually need, but I would have though 60 L would be enough.

Port Glasgow To Inverary

I would think that the distance would be about 75 - 80 miles this would take about 2.5 hours at 30 mph and i can only comment on what i would use with a 60 hp 2 stroke on a 5.4 m searider this would be about 65 litres.

I did a similar trip from Largs marina round the north of the Isle of Bute across to Tarbet and then up to Inveraray in my 4m with a Yamaha 40hp 2 stroke. It was 60 miles and I used about 40 litres of fuel although from Glasgow it will be further A four stroke will be more economical. There was a petrol station in Tarbet but I would check it is still there and there is a fuel station at Inverary. It is a great trip by the way. It took us 4 hours

I was in Tarbert last week and the petrol station is indeed still there - berth at the pontoons (North side of the bay), go up to the main road and turn right, it's about 400m from the "marina" entrance. Oh, and the petrol ain't cheap!!!
