Polzeath launching

Anyone know of a decent slip near Polzeath or thereabouts. It’s to launch a 5.45 RIB, so must be a slip, not a beach.
Thanks for any info.

I think Port Isaac has one, but it's probably the size of a postage stamp and I'm not sure it's for pubic use. Might be worth a phone call though.

You can launch in Rock, I haven't launched my boat there personally but give Rock Marine Services a call, they'll be able to give you more info.

Yeah, I had a look at it, looks like there’s a channel from the harbour. It looks tight though. I’ve got until September to do my research.

Yea it's tight but tour boats go out whilst the channel is navigable it's the bar that's the problem during a swell last time I was there weather kiboshed it for us not ideal for a weeks hols

There is also a slip at Port Gaverne (50°35'33.8"N 4°49'22.9"W) into a protected cove. It will involve using the beach at low tide.

dave just to throw in the mix.
i found that bit of coast limiting wind, tide, launching etc.
so i always went out of newlyn putting the boat on a pontoon for the week it can be a bit shallow on low tide on the shore side pontoons but i found it ok it's 50 mile from polzeath and might not fit with where your staying/doing but you have more chance of getting out from the channel side, i contacted the harbour master and arranged mooring this was in 2010 so you would need to see if anything has changed. penzance might be an option but from memory it dried out so i gave it a miss.
newquay has an harbour but dries out not sure on launching research needed.
local guys will give more than i can but newlyn for me.
pic of basking shark on the way to lands end.
hope that helps cheers

Cheers for that Jeff. I might leave the boat at home as it’s looking like it could be more trouble than it’s worth. We’re stuck with Polzeath as it’s a friend’s cottage, so we might just do the touristy bit. It’s nice to get some fresh Mackies for the BBQ though.
