Pod

Got some electronics I would like to fit to my console. I'd like a Pod in which to house these instruments, made from GRP or similar, that would keep the instruments together and be detachable from the console for security reasons.

Approx Dimension would be 400w X 200h X 120d

I was going to fit a standard IP67 electrical enclosure sourced from RS or some where and fit some stainless BRKTS to each end....

Anyone got any better Ideas?

I posted a question late last year about externally mounting a VHF in a waterproof housing. I did get some helpful response ( as always ) but still haven't decided what to do. I haven't got around to doing the VHF course yet but need to do the course, purchase and fit a radio before I start using the RIB in anger in the Spring/ Summer. Please keep me informed of what radio you decide on and how you fit it. The past thread that may prove useful was called "external VHF mounting" on Dec 15th. Do a search for it I did try a link but cocked it up.

Bought a Silva S10 radio and a Garmin plotter on the last day of the show. Just need a depth sounder/ff and Lowrance looking pretty promissing at mo.

Good luck with your VHF course (when you take it), it shouldn't cause you any sleepless nights.
