I was in Plymouth 77 - 82, I got arrested for the Pierpoint murder in 81, but that was all sorted out, and I got released after a few days.

Friends REunited

Well well
Got to admit to being there also 92-96
Having been one of the original test dumbies on the Pigs they are indestrucatable - made a mess out of QAB wave screen, the high speed beaching test - great until you had to push, pull, strain etc to get the beast back afloat. There was also the case of the wayfairer which sailed into the pig's transom and promptly sank - thems were the days, wondering if Skate would capsize with that great big mast!
Those were the days, £20 - PB L2, £70 PBL4 and the instructors didn't get paid

Well Jaspers is still there if a few meters north, enough reminising for now Better do some work!

Hey it wasn't all my fault!!!!!
I only cleaned a few layers of concrete!!!

A few years ago one of the pigs drove over a poor unsuspecting dory just stitting there in Catte water minding its own business, cox claimed you can't see in front of a 20' boat - I hope he wasn't training to be a proffesional mariner!

Ask Frank to see the video on the Polar's it was hidden away to stop the drivers trying to emulate the sales feats!!

You could always ask the chief diving instructor why the Cobra has a large patch in her tubes??
(New boat, dive knife, rope need I say more!)

Those were the days SU nationals 180 boats go out, 60 get towed home

Shame it was not a pig u could cut all day on a pig and just blunt the knife. U could prob take a pic to one and do no dammage. who was in the dory was it alaster. I have seen one pig put it's bow compleetly over the top of piglet (15 footer) not a good idea!

Yes it was Al,
Its one thing to put a boat that sinks into a pig or any thing else with a large deck area, to carry it home another thing completely to put the safety boat in another - touch of Russian Dolls!!!

Plymouth Uni

Guys,

Come on the Uni has always been like this.
It has its high points and its low points. Sure they are going to knock down Coxside for the big fish tank next door, but the Club will definately keep going cause the students are so passionate about it.

After spending 3 years devoted to the Club it will be sad to see things move from Coxside but there are plenty of other places to move to nearby.
Maybe a move from Coxside will allow us a bit more freedom to do what the Sailing and Powerboat Club members want to do and not have the world revolve around divers!
