Please help- advice needed.

Found a 2002 Zodiac Medline III for sale in the south of France for 35,000 euros, about £24,000. I think quite cheap, so have a look. Engines done 330h , a 225hp yamaha, tubes are in good condition from exterior and boat looks in good order. Quite a few stress cracks around the boat, should i be worried?. Also what would i exspect the lifespan of the zodiac ( PVC) tubes to be?. Can anyone help?. Any help or advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks.

How much, and with quite a few stress cracks . For that money I would be talking to Whiteshoes, very nice ribtec in emaculate condition. Its in the for sale section.

Ribtec 7.4 m - Yamaha F225 - £ 28,500

Pete

I'm no fan of these Medlines, but we've done that one. £24k sounds a fortune for a 2002 Zodiac which has limited resale appeal. Don't like the sound of the cracks either. Hours are highish, but with good history that shouldn't be an issue.

I was speaking to an owner in exmouth marina i seem to remember his rib also had several stress cracks some in the floor it was his opinion there was some design problem not to uncomon to these.Zodiac is a hard market for the sale of second hand.Unless imaculate i would think twice.I have owned a yactline build quality you could say not fantastic they sell because they are pretty.24,000 sounds too dear. Please bear in mind this is only my opinion not based on hard evidence

RE: replies

This is really useful feeback, thanks for your opinions. Any more are most welcome.Just wondering how much longer i should expect a 2002 zodiac rib to last, tubes etc...any ideas?. The stress cracks are not too serious. There are two larger cracks by the helm but other than that the cracks look just like scratchs. Non on the transom or on joins or anything.

Help is much appreciated, thanks to all those who've replied so far.

I think I've asked you this one before but, would you not consider a Ribtec SX? All the bells and whistles on a proper Rib.

Re:

Yeah, have looked at the ribtec 655sx, really smart. Havn't completely ruled it out yet.
