Petrol in Belgium and Holland

Hi guys. I'm planning a trip accross to Oostende tommorow but have heard several conflicting rumours about petrol availability and recent changes.

Does anyone know for sure the availability of quayside petrol in any marinas from Dunkirk through to Zeebrugge and beyond into Holland including, particulary Oostende and Nieuwport.

I have bought it quayside in Dunkirk and Nieuwport before.

Also, never having been to Oostended (in the last 10 years) any advice from locals or people that have.

Thanks in advance, post-trip debrief notes to be added after the weekend.

I always go to Blankenberge. That is a small port very close to Zeebrugge (3 miles).

Useful info thanks.

For those who are interested i've borrowed a Ribtec 655 w/ Suzuki 140 4 stroke. I imagine this will be a very nice outfit but will report back.

Yes in Breskens: Breskens, bunkerstation Koster, dies/benz

Click 'T' for 'Tanken' and than click 'Brandstof aan of bij de waterkant' for all places in Holland at once.
It's in Dutch but if you have any questions just ask.

Indeed there is, but is is 10% more expensive than the one in Blankenberge.

probably easiest one is Nieuwport. Total fina pump barge on the quayside. price is about 1.40 euros/liter euro 95 and 1.10 diesel.. France will be about 10% cheaper - except diesel.

Thanks for help guys, sucessfully refulled in Blankenberge. Really nice marina, great chandlery and a town with fantastic restraunts and night life. Well reccomended.

Oostende was also a great overnighter with serious nightlife and a helpful if a little mad harbourmaster.

Didnt quite make Holland due to weather which is a shame.

The crossing from Harwich to Oostende is straightforward (nothing really to hit) although lumpy in the middle! Being almost 80nm youre on your own for a good while but certianly a reccomended weekender.

I'll post a report / review in the "cruising" section in due course.
