You mean you don't carry a spare prop, Richard? Shame on you! Having said that I think carrying a spare engine would probably be more useful in your case

Yeah that does raise certain questions doesn't it, like why do these things keep happening to me, didn't see you or Dan hitting fridges or railway sleepers in the river, and its never either of you two that break down with silly things.

Suppose its my fault for being fastest and up at the front leading

In reality the engine is now fairly reliable, i think i've addressed most of the problems and all that can go wrong now is electrics.

So mr D where do you keep your spare prop then, or flares or first aid kit or fire extiguisher etc

Oh and if your buying fish and chips i might come up then and wave you off

Rats revenge

Dan ... Agreed if we go out together we cover each other, and its not always needed to carry all the kit so long as we have at least one between us, have thought about carrying a second prop but trying to just reach it on sunday proved difficult enough, let alone change it, it would have meant that someone (Phil) would have had to go into the water to change it, then i'd have had to have the right tools to change it too.
I nearly cut my finger off trying to get the nut undone on Sunday when i got home as the prop sliped and the jagged bit cut me, having that happen 70k's from home would have just been the icing on the cake though it would have been Phils finger not mine as he had the dry suit on.

I do carry a spare prop actually, a Honda toolkit and a full complement of flares in the dry box situated under my console, so there! I also have a handheld VHF, mobile phone, drysuit and 150n lifejacket. Oh, and a blow-up Essex girl doll in case I get shipwrecked off Foulness Island.

If you get ship wrecked on Sheppy your'll need gold sovereigns to buy off the local Pikkies..... God i hate those Pikkies

So next time we go out your'll have to show me this secret compartment where you stash all this kit Phil

Did you ever call that woman who chatted you up in the petrol station that time would be a lot softer and warmer than an inflatable essex girl (though not much mind)

If you mean that brazen hussy from Tiptree, no I didn't call her because I'm not having my shiny Avon deck scratched by white stilletos. Besides which she wouldn't have matched the blow-up doll for intellectual conversation nor could she be used as a liferaft in emergencies.

Interesting thought about the Sheppey pikies. I may have to consider stashing my Beretta on board for future excursions. Failing that I could always fit an orange beacon on the RIB, carry a couple of sacks of tarmac and piss all over my jeans so they think I'm one of them.
