PETITION - Stop any more speed restrictions on The Thames

The PLA are intending to increase the current speed limit from Cherry Gardens, Wapping (this is very close to Tower Bridge) all the way down river to Cross Ness which is Dagenham/Thamesmead. The proposed limit will between 12 and 15 knots. The PLA are trying to keep this quiet and have it passed before anyone is aware. Please support the petition that has been set up, link below. Even if you don't live in Central London, you never know when you may visit. What is a RIB without speed. It takes a few seconds to complete, please complete now www.gopetition.com/online/16885.html

Nos4r2 - thanks for the tip - now on boatmad.com

Thanks for everyone that has signed the petition, pls mail it to your friends so we can make it as powerful as poss... We intend to use this as part of the campaign against the limit increase when it goes out to consultation later this month. The campaign will be for both leisure and commercial boat users.

I can't believe there are only 69 signatures - no wonder this government can push people around as much as it likes - people just don't care any more - ORDERS must be obeyed!!!

Then again maybe it's just that people know nobody will listen to them - remember the petitions against ID cards and the congestion charge - millions of signatures and the government still goes ahead............
