Passage via North Ford - North Uist / Benbecula

Hello All

Anybody used North Ford between Benbecula and North Uist to get to the West coast from the pier at Ceallan?

A local operator apparently uses it to get to the Monach islands (as I'm wanting to do), and it's mentioned in my Clyde Cruising Club pilotage guide but with no detailled info.

From looking at the charts it looks do-able with care and timing for the tides and looking out for rocks. But I expect the channel will shift over time too.

Doubtless asking around locally will be useful but welcome your experiences, as the West coast doesn't seem that great for launching.

Many thanks for your help

Steve
