What are yellow boats like in the summer? Yellow has a horrible habit of attracting bees and wasps etc.

That is what some people said when I was buying the Ribcraft Biggles now owns, however never had a problem with wasps or flies at all.

I did once here a story about a bloke who's boat was attacked by a swam of bees whilst out at sea. He locked himself in his cabin and was told he could not come in until the bees had been checked in case they were the killer bees from South America - this was off Worms Head - Gower. This boat is moored next to mine now - and it's blue so I better watch out.

I usually find that bees/bugs/birds/bats/bottles are smashed on the forward console at speed... no problem..

I found little black insects sitting on the tubes during the nice weather at my house. But the boats under some trees and they look like mini flies. Not dangerous or capable of making any marks.

Flies hatched from woodworm. Check your attic.

Attics okay. I use it a lot and would have noticed holes in the wood, I hope. Not too scientific about the little blighters but I suspect they are coming from the trees. Funny the way they don't go on anything else like the cars etc.

We are surrounded with fields so could have come from them. Never seen them before I brought the boat home and obvioulsy they have legged it now with the bad weather arriving.
Just got to keep the rats out of the shed this winter.

Top rib. Richard you are one lucky man,
that is a mega piece of kit .
also top marks to Andre & Parker the fit out and service is second to none, many boat builders should pay attention to this type of detail. some of the rigging and wiring i have seen jeezus.....

every thing looks like it was built by the builder for there own use, the attention to detail and build quality, is as it should be,
you work hard take chances, and then you are fortunate to find a relible and honest builder to give you your moneys worth,

many winter days will be spent before summer arrives i am sure

Couldn't agree more - and what I like is that it's a proper RIB - so many these days are going away from what a RIB is meant to be.
