Not yet really, was too rough to attempt WOT, plus the engines are brand new and don't really want to give them a spanking yet. Will let you know more when we have given it a proper run, we saw 48 knots yesterday across the top of a 4' chop, but were not flat out.

The top speed on Richard's rib has yet to be measured and here one will have to wait for suitable weather conditions. Pls remember that the Parker 900 Baltic which was at Ribex 2006 was fitted out for 14 persons and had twin Optimax 225. Richard's rib has seating for 8 persons , twin Verado 275 and these beauties are also much heavier then the Optimax engines.

Unfortunately we have to wait for a bit longer before we see any action shots. I understand that perhaps next week when the weather improves.

Here are some shots taken by me at the Marina in Calais. This is the very first time we had made a yellow rib. The result is stunning and beyond our expectations.

look forward to hearing - i was interested in the comparison with the heavier verados over the optis. 'tis a grand boat to be sure!

I have just changed from a 225 Opti to a 275 Verado and they really are chalk and cheese. Two very differant approaches to get the same result. Gut feel is the simpler Opti faster but the Verado torque and punch give a differant sensation of speed.

Not sure if one is 'better' than the other but pleased to have used both.

Nautibouy left Littlehampton at 9AM. Weather conditions as you can see from the photos not too bad however rain is expected so they will get wet
It is now 10:06 so they should be in the Solent by now

Well she's home no reception party this time, we passed Gosport Marina at 10.30am, thank you Paul (jackeen) for coming along, also to Tony (TCWOZERE) who kindly dropped us to Littlehampton. Sea state was fine for the first 10-15 mins and then boy did it lump up, proper big swells, but in all honesty it took it fine, think our slowest speed was 18 knots, then running at 25-36knots, she is a fine boat indeed. Gecko helmets are a must, it started to rain quite hard at one point, Gecko's on and sorted. We did very nearly ran across a lobster pot line, must have been 40' in length with cork floats just laying across the surface of the water literally just caught sight of it as we came off of the top of a wave, straight off the throttles and into reverse, stopped 10' just short of it.

Pulled in to the Solent and it was flat, gorgeous skimming across, made a lovely change, as it was the flatest water we have seen since we left Calais. So time for a play, we sat on the plane at 20 knotts then just floored the throttles, wow the power surge is just something else no matter how hard you try you cant stop your head being thrown back. So we stopped into neutral, then again floored it and we reckon 0 - 40 plus knots in less than 5 secs, no bow lift, just straight up and skimming, truly awesome .

Not sure where but at somepoint on our trip back we have done 53 knots as this is the speed on the GPS as fastest speed, looking forward to seeing what she tops out at.

Anyway pleased I now have her back in the Marina. Time for some TLC

You know the part of the story that surprises me is that it sounds like the authorities checked you out completely on one side and then when you were spotted by authorities on the other there was no communication between them to verify the fact that you were a known and harmless commodity. A lot of the discussion over here after September 11 centered on the lack of communication between agencies. It seems that is standard operating procedure and not just in the states!

So the french give them the thumbs up, for us not to check too only to fined they had guns or drugs on board! "Ho well it was not are fault as the french said they where OK"! And then that is to stop them loading up mid channel??
