Parker 750 RS

Monday morning I arrived at Andre´s office where we discussed specifications of various boats under evaluation by our customers and how Parker could accomodate their requirement, then we drove to Littlehampton where the boat was launched and filled up with petrol and out we went.

Having the steering wheel to the left I felt driving my own car...... but all instruments in good access and readable, seating configuration and support to your back and lower back as standing is superb and all handles mounted in good positions.

The Verado engine is a beatiful machine a huge tall and massive and as Andre started the engine you better watch the tacho as you barely hear the engine running and for us of the old school used to noisy and tricky two strokes and the "wundebar" oily mix smell and I start to thought I need to record missing noise to play and somehow find ways getting the smelly I missed on board the boat..........

Andre took the boat out to open sea which where a bit flat but still though some waves to have a go, after Andre did some briefings on the waves it was time to take over the helm and as usual I handled the throtthle the usual way and what a mistake and gritty face on Andre....... like he wanted to say "not handled boat before"....... you can imagine newbie driving for first time..... what a sensitive "cruise by wire" is and after accomodate other position the throttle management is so lot easier and you will not get tired on your wrist and that I can tell you I look forward having the Verado on my Seaquel 600 XS and I am sure my wrist will be as good as from first minute to the last 30-40 hours ride on sea.

Took easy rides to get used to the boat taking the waves on different angles before giving full throttle and action.

As I gained confidence in the boat and its behaviour more serious injection was required and what an accelaration from the 225 Verado horses and as said before I the muscle screaming voice where missing to accomodate the feeling of the speed, this is something we the old buggers must get used to in the future, got the engine to 5900 revs and clocked in 37 knoths a bit little but Andre had pointed out his engineer had put the engine a bit higher up to see if more revs would be gained, anyway at this speed the boat was taken serioius ride and it didn´t matter how we took on the waves it came a soft ride and barely any banging and even flying from one wave to the next one (flying) the landing was surprisingly soft, perhaps this may have something to do with the weight of the engine, whish I where on another boat watching or someone else where taking video.

After beeing on the water for nearly two hours having a great time I can reccommend this boat to everyone and urge to those of you thinking of 7,5 metre RIB´s to give this boat a chance and I have already recommend this boat to my boss and whereas to the Verado I fell in love with it.

Bogi

p.s.

Took María Erla´s dry suit by mistake with me and see it fitted

Sounds like you had great fun - thought you would have been in typical Viking dress though - a helmet with horns would have been ideal......

Great account Bogib! Sounds like you and Andre had a lot of fun.

Good recommendation for Verado and Parker RIBS.

Yeah, I think I had one long time ago, but after uncountable trips to the Solent it has come to hornless/harmless www.ribsters.net fleece hat ........

Bogi

I am pleased it was possible for you to come and that you had a good time. The weather was good just right for a good demo. Just a pity no enough time for even a blast for lunch to Brighton Marina. But I am sure there will be another opportunity
