I've used them on the Clyde, but unfortunately their idea of "West Scotland" doesn't come North of there

Admiralty Tough charts are produced for certain areas and are excellent.

Waterproof, A4 ring bound charts for heavily used areas. They do them for Solent, N Wales Llyn and Anglesey etc and a couple of other areas.

Excellent for open boats.

I take your point re their coverage of the harbours & marinas is limited to the clyde. but I did challenge them on this fact and was advised that they are working on extending as fast as they can, they are looking for local boaters to compile info on an area basis. The chart coverage is good though and the ability to overload to Earth and download using their print screen capture is excellent and allows you to magnify certain areas for carrying on board in laminates.
Just my opinion.

What a shame. Any second hand ones possibly?

I thought they'd continue, surely economical if sold out. Doubt they were sold at a loss

Yes you will always see 2nd hand ones on Ebay from time to time. I forget their reasoning but it is on their sight if I remember they wanted people to change to their electronic maps ie discs.
