Olly try this lot for paint and try using black patches, they look like seats.

Olly, if you paint it, do it the same colour because it does bruise off a bit. You can peel back the old patches with the gentle use of a hot air gun. Then you can replace them nicely. Polymarine will also sell you hypalon and 2402 adhesive.

Replace them with black patches and it just looks like a wear patch for people to sit on.

Hypalon is the fabric the tubes are made from.

I've used the polymarine paint in the past. Really Good. Make sure you use one of those mini gloss style rollers to apply - very quick and easy.

Can't remember exactly but I remember that it was very expensive, something close to £30 for a 1 ltr tin (don't quote me). I used close to 2 of them on a 5m boat with large tubes.

I did get a bit of pealing here and there but I put that down to poor preparation.

nice thanks for that,

my plan is,

*Wash the boat, thoroughly with soapy fairy liquid dry out throughly,
*get hold of some of the SRC paint, in the same colour as someone on here suggested earlier,
*get a small roller, to avoid paint streaks,

THe only think is preperation im not sure about, I know its not going to be like brand new, but Im willing to give it my best shot

How do you reckon I should prep her?

thanks for all your help so far, I will document and post all progress pics for all our reference

Not sure if the stuff from Polymarine is similar to this from accross the pond or if this lot have a UK distributer. There is loads of info and FAQ's on their site.

Follow the instructions on the tin I guess - I probably didn't. Obviously use masking tape on the bits you don't want to paint.

FYI, the very experienced guy who serviced my engine didn't realise it was a paint job till I told him. He couldn't believe it!
