Painting Gelcoat

Hi. I am wanting to paint over gelcoat. I have currently removed the old paint from gelcoat and now wondering do I need to use a primer or can I just paint straight on.
Also what is the best paint for shine on hull above water line?

Thanks

International perfection is very good. There is a suitable primer in the range.

Morning sorry missed this

Hmg paints Andover

Polykote 4+1 primer
Acrythane A211 top coat

Some previous works attatched, put plenty on and colour sand ,mop to taste

Would never use any thing else trust me, best finish you can achieve and adhesion is second to none,Click image for larger version

Awlgrip. An amazing finish, indistinguishable from gelcoat when applied correctly.

Are you applying as a 3 coat system (primer, colour, clear)as per HMG's website?

Acruthane finish. Does not need clear coat
So primer and a211. I mix 2:1 with 9004 hardner no thinners it flows out flat through a Devilbis HD on a pressure fed system

Thank you.
I'd looked on their site & the only a211 showed up as a 3 coat fluorescent.
I've just tried a google for Acrythane a211 & it shows on their site what you describe so possible issues with the ' product search' on their site.
Looks very good.
