Owning 2 boats or more?

So what are the pros and cons of this, I mean I know quite a few of us do it but is it all really worth it?

I suspect you'll find it's pointless when it's a 2 hour tow to the sea and you'll only ever use one of them.

2 different boats sure, why not ?

If you have 2 ribs then no. Keep one and sell the other to replace it with something different, be it speed, cruise, weekender etc.

I'm definately up for keeping two but its trying to hide one from the wife thats my problem!!

My Humber is coming to the end of its renovation now and its looking so good I don't think I can part with it, only problem is I've fallen in love with the SR4.7 thats now taking up the drive!!

Well if you have 2 RIBs and you dry stack them with us you would get a ddiscount!!!

Unfortunately I'm on the south east coast and there is no such thing as dry stack down here, you even struggle to find a decent slipway!

A RIB and a SIB. It's the way forward. The SIB absolutely has to fit in the boot, including outboard. And you absolutely have to be wishing for the RIB if you're out on the SIB. And the reason for not taking the RIB has to fully balance if not outweigh the enjoyment got from the SIB.

As it happens I have been contemplating getting a small sib so I can use my twatsu 3.5 which has been stuck in my garage unused for 12 months, I have always been out in my rib with others so I never needed to bring it along. I could then stick the sib on the roof rack while towing the rib and when on holiday or out for a few days combine using the two, saving fuel.

I have two boats, both of them have spent most of the year getting wet on side that's meant to stay dry and dry on the side that should be wet

You can never ever have too many boats ! Its not a cheap thing to do , but you cant take the money with you.

If the two are quite differant (like I was lucky enough to have) or a RIB & SIB then go for it . If your thinking SR & RC I'm not sure they are far enough apart to make it worthwhile - surely you'll end up in the RC every time if as NOS says you are towing either one.

Trevor does a good job of it however. One on the stack though ...

Of course you can mothball one for the kids when they grow up ? Or get a SIB - lots of much cheaper fun and the ability to get places quicker in the car and take up no space ?

3 boats, RIB+SIB+GRP boat. SIB i want to swap to a smaller one for better mobility, RIB (SR 5.4) is for family ang general use. The GRP boat....can't really motivate that one, kind of a project, just for fun and trying to keep it upright....prohibited area for rest of the family. So far having only one trailer for two boats, that is litle annoying, otherwise will keep things this way.
