Overhauling a rib in Scotland

We bought a 4 year old red 6.5m bay cabin rib last october and, apart from the odd glorious day out, we had no end of niggles to both electrics and the hull itself. We lost a bit of confidence in the boat at the end of the season, especially as the tubes kept failing at the sponson following botched repair jobs.

We are really keen to take the boat somewhere where they can give it a good going over and set it up properly so we can do some big trips with confidence this year. I know there will be the odd hassle with boats but it got near to scuttling stage last year!

Can anyone recommend a suitable outfit in scotland or north of england that could do the tube repairs and general overhaul?

Thanks
Alasdair

give Paul a ring at http://www.ferrymarine.co.uk/homepage.htm

He is a good guy and is in Port Edgar marina, has just started a RIB repair side to his business.

Ferry Marine near the Forth bridge do this sort of work. I bought a rib that had just come out of their workshops last year and they seemed to have done a good job of fixing it and tidying it up. Might be worth giving them a call and seeing how much they'd charge:

is the boat in edinburgh? or have you got her on the west coast? its not a million miles to take the boat by sea back to redbay on the N Irish coast if you have the confidence... ...would have thought with redbays reputation that back to the manufacturer would be a good bet for her.

I'll also give Paul at Ferry marine a good reccomendation. He's done some excellent work for me in the past and I'm more than happy with it.
